US Muslim placed on no-fly list is unable to see his ailing mother
Perhaps one of the most disappointing aspects of the Obama administration is its continued and expanded use of secrecy where national security is even tangentially involved, all while actually doing good work in other areas to open up access to government data. The no-fly list seems to offer little protection to the U.S. from terrorists while showing signs of being used excessively and in an abusive manner. The fact that U.S. citizens can be added with little recourse and no judicial oversight just shows how far this program has moved from the ideal of justice and fairness we have come to expect (whether justified or not) from our government.
And an update here: US Air Force veteran, finally allowed to fly into US, is now banned from flying back home
